Majority of fans: Coman a good replacement for Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe's departure to Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 is not unlikely, and Paris Saint Germain are currently looking around for a successor. According to media reports, one candidate to replace the pacy striker is Bayern professional and ex-Parisian Kingsley Coman, who could well imagine a return to the French capital. FanQ asked football fans in Germany whether Coman would be a good replacement for Mbappe.

Bayern pro as Mbappe replacement?

It is no longer a secret that Kylian Mbappe wanted to leave Paris Saint Germain for Madrid last summer. At the time, PSG rejected an offer of 180 million euros from Real. Next summer, however, he will be available on a free transfer and, from January, the 22-year-old will even be allowed to negotiate a move with other clubs without permission from the Sheikh's club. Even though the striker recently left a contract extension open in Paris, the club is preparing for his possible departure and is looking around for initiatives. According to media reports, one candidate is winger Kingsley Coman, who is still under contract with FC Bayern Munich until 2023. This season, the winger has scored 7 goals (5 goals, 2 assists) in 15 games in the Bundesliga and Champions League. The 25-year-old is reportedly not averse to a move to the French league leaders.

Kingsley Coman already played for PSG as a youth player. He played his way up to the professional ranks via the youth teams until he moved to Juventus Turin in 2014 and was then loaned to FC Bayern Munich in 2015 and sold in 2017. The club would therefore not be new territory for the 2020 Champions League winner. FanQ asked football fans in Germany whether Coman would be a good replacement for Kylian Mbappe. A majority of 56.5 % believe that Paris St. Germain would get a good alternative in the Bayern star. 32.6 %, on the other hand, believe that signing Coman would not be a good replacement for the 2017 golden boy. However, there has reportedly been no personal contact between the Bayern professional and the PSG camp to date. This will probably only happen when a move for Mbappe becomes more likely in January. In Paris, they are still hoping to keep the superstar beyond the end of the season.
