The ray of hope

The "BRIGHT SPOT OF THE YEAR" is a fan award that aims to put the positive aspects of football in the spotlight so that they get the attention and recognition they deserve! FanQ organises the fan voting together with the Bavarian Football Association on an annual basis.

This is how Lichtblick works!

Projects and campaigns in professional and amateur football are honoured at the Lichtblick des Jahres. The award is intended to recognise and focus on the commitment of individuals and/or associations. It comprises four categories:

Social commitment

Diversity/equal opportunities

Ecological orientation

Sporting fairness

The project is divided into three phases. Firstly, fans can nominate their personal highlights of the respective year. An independent jury then assigns the projects, campaigns or moments to the categories and agrees on the favourites. In the voting phase, fans can then vote for the highlights of the year in the respective categories.

In addition to an attractive award, the winners also receive a donation or a project grant of 1,000 euros for a charitable cause as well as a great deal of media attention.

Our partners

Together with its sustainable global investment manager Pangaea Life, Bayerische aims to help combat the negative effects of man-made climate change and strengthen a socially responsible society.

Based on the conviction that sustainability can only succeed if equal consideration is given to the three factors of economy, social affairs and ecology, the "LICHTBLICK" is a great opportunity to honour positive events and initiatives and put them in the spotlight.

All information about the Lichtblick

What does the harmonisation process for the Lichtblick look like?

Voting for the Lichtblick is divided into three phases. Firstly, every fan can vote in the Nomination phase nominate a special moment, a positive event or a corresponding project from the calendar year on the Bayerische Lichtblick website. After the submissions have been made, a independent jury will select the best nominations, which will then be put to the vote. In this Coordination phase fans can then vote for their favourites in the various categories. The campaign/project with the most votes will then be honoured as the bright spot of the year in the respective category.

What or who can be nominated?

The nomination should be about a positive football moment of the calendar year for you. It doesn't matter whether it's a specific event, a specific action or a project. The only important thing is that the nomination is related to football. Submissions are welcome from both professional and amateur footballers. In addition, the nomination should come from one of the areas of "Social Commitment", "Diversity/Equal Opportunities", "Ecological Orientation" or "Sporting Fairness".

What are the criteria for the jury's assessment of the submissions?

The decisive factor for the jury is the degree of speciality / innovation / surprise. You should therefore emphasise the exceptional nature of your proposal in your nomination. Why should your proposal be chosen above all others? Was it particularly courageous, etc.?

What do the winners get?

In addition to an attractive award, the winners also receive a donation/project grant of 1,000 euros for a charitable cause as well as a great deal of media attention.
